A neatly organized earthquake emergency kit laid out on a clean, light gray kitchen countertop in a Tigard home, photographed with realistic detail. The kit includes labeled water jugs, canned food, a battery-powered radio, flashlights, extra batteries, a neatly folded mylar blanket, a small tool set, and a clearly visible first-aid kit with a red cross symbol. Soft overcast daylight filters through a nearby window, creating even, natural lighting with gentle shadows and clear legibility of each item. Shot from a slightly elevated eye-level angle with sharp focus throughout, the composition follows the rule of thirds and feels calm, professional, and reassuring, emphasizing preparedness rather than fear, in a clean, modern photographic style.

About

Hi, I’m Moon, and I’m a black Lab. I was born in November of 2025, and brought home to Tigard in January of 2026.

I first became interested in quake preparedness when I learned that the family I live with would plan to shelter in place for two months after a quake. I wondered, how would the kids I live with get home? How would they stay warm? What would we all eat? What would we drink?

As I developed our house’s emergency plan, I realized that I was pulling together disparate information that could help the community. I could post this information to help other people, and I could gather more information to refine my plan.

When I’m not preparing for a quake, I also love hunting waterfowl, upland birds, and small game with my handler, and I love tasty treats!
